Prayer for Peace in Syria

Pope Francis has spoken passionately about the need for peace in Syria and throughout the world and the urgency with which we as Catholics must pray and work for peace.  Anguished over the suffering of Syria's people and the prospect of another war, the Holy Father called on Catholics and all people of good will to participate in a day of fasting and prayer for peace held Saturday, September 7, 2013, the vigil of the Feast of the Birth of Our Lady, whom we venerate as Queen of Peace.  The day of prayer and fasting was concluded in Rome with a prayer vigil celebrated with the Holy Father in Saint Peter's Square.  Click here to see the prayer vigil.

Please continue to pray in solidarity with our Holy Father and with people around the world for peace in Syria.  Prayer is the offering of time to God with attention focused on discerning God's will and on living out that will in our daily routines.
