Year Round Homeless Shelter

Volunteers Needed

Frederick County and City have joined with many community outreach programs to allow the Alan P. Linton Emergency Homeless Shelter to remain open year-round.  In response to this urgent need, Holy Family has pledged to provide volunteer shelter coverage June 1st - 15th.  We need your support to keep the Shelter operational, so if interested, sign up in the Narthex after Mass.  Parishioners are encouraged to volunteer throughout spring and summer as you are able.  Thank you in advance for your assistance!

We serve two-hour shifts, from either 6-8pm or 8-10pm.  Cold Weather Shelter/Project Exodus veteran volunteers DO NOT need to attend another training, but first-time volunteers will be asked to attend a brief training session, lasting about ½ hour.  You can sign up after Mass this weekend and next weekend or call the Shelter at (301) 631-2670 x112 to schedule a session.  The training session will be held at Religious Coalition offices, 27 DeGrange St, on Wednesday, May 14th at 7:00pm in the Coalition Board Room.  Please contact our parish’s Shelter Coordinator, Dave Tich, at (301) 401-0200 or davetich@gmail.com for more information.
