Grief Ministry

Volunteers provide support to parishioners who have lost a loved one in a variety of ways including letter writing, events, and support group facilitation.

Letter Writing

Letter writers are assigned a person who has lost a loved one to send monthly mailings to for six months.  The mailing includes a brief note showing the letter writer's support and prayer for the person and resources to help with the mourning process.  Each time a letter writer is assigned a person, they recieve a packet with all the mailings and a schedule of when to send each resource.

The committee oversees the support of grieving parishioners.  They plan and help with events such as the Courtyard Blessing and days of remembrance.  The committee meets about four times a year.

Funeral Assistance

Members of the Grief Ministry assist at wake services and funerals held here at Holy Family.
