Feed Martha's Children Program

The “Feed Martha’s Children” program is designed to get our parish to think about how our donations will bring hope, love, and change to St. Martha’s and how knowing that we are making a difference in Haiti will change our lives.

Almost 800 children attend school at St. Martha’s parish.  Most of them are very hungry, walking a long distance to school on empty stomachs, unable to learn, sleeping in class.  In Haiti, just 200 miles from Miami, one in five children die by the age of 5.  Think about that – think about how you can help change that for the families in our sister parish.

  • Fifty cents will feed one child one hot meal at school – even our youngest members of Holy Family can help.  You can’t buy a Coke or a coffee for this little sum.
  • For $120, YOU can feed one school child every school day in St. Martha’s for one year – that is only dinner and drinks for 2 at Main Cup or 4 tickets to an IMAX movie at Westview with some popcorn (maybe).
  • For $250, YOU can feed all 520 of St. Martha’s school children one hot meal.  For about what most American families spend in the grocery for one week, you can support 520 hot meals!

How You Can Help

Change for Haiti

A cauldron can be found in the Narthex where Holy Family collects money for our feeding program.  Parishioners are invited to give what their means alow to help feed the children of our sister parish.

Adopt a Child

For just $10.00 per month, you can help one child to be fed, stay healthy and be better prepared to learn in school - the cost of two lattes! Payment can be made once a month in the amount of $10.00 or for the full year in the amount of $120.00 in the form of cash, check or through Faith Direct.
